Memories from March

We had so much going on in March, which is why it has taken me forever to finish this post! I started it over a month ago, it's just taken me a long time to complete it. There are many, many fun pics below!
As most of you know, March was a difficult month for me.  I had been looking forward to getting Aubrey back in school, but then I was told I needed to wait a little longer, just to be on the safe side. I was so bummed for Aubrey. Everyday she would ask me about school, but at the same time she loved doing school at home.We would work on our letters and their sounds on a daily basis. I love this video! Aubrey is trying to teach Ryleigh her letters too!

The other difficult piece of March, was reflecting upon what life would of been like as we got close to Marabeth's due date. (March 20.)  In April, I learned that I was pregnant, and so March definitely brought us a special gift too. Despite the emotions I had during that month, I am grateful I was able to deal with some things I needed to deal with. March also included many fun events too, which you will see!
Below is a picture of "Nurse Carrie" and my girls. She is a reminder to me, that good things come from the difficult things we face in life. If I had not had Ryleigh early, and she had not been in the NICU for so long, Carrie and I would never have become the friends we are today.  The girls and I met her at a park in McKinney. They had so much fun feeding the ducks.
Aubrey and Kate had their first theatre experience in March, where we saw Winnie the Pooh. My nephews Kale and Will are quite the actors! Will actually had the lead role as Winnie.
Kale was a bumble bee and did a great job as well!
When the show was over, I asked Aubrey what she thought of it. She said, "I didn't like the blue mouse." Tami and I both got a good laugh! She was referring to Eyore in the story. He had a blue face in the play. Aubrey has a  phobia of funny looking costumes, especially animal costumes. She is terrified of the mouse at Chuck E. Cheeses, as well as any kind of mascot.

Afterwards, we let the girls get a Sonic drink and headed to the park. They are so cute!

My Dad was teasing them here, and told them to look up at the squirrel in the tree.

They love each other so much!

One of our school activities in March.... PAINTING!
This was my first time to let Ryleigh paint too. She was so excited!

She ended up wearing most of the paint.

Below are pictures of our first Hotel stay with both girls. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Grapevine, and had the best time. The Pruetts had the connecting room to us. Aubrey loves any chance she has with her buddy Kate.

Getting ready for bed!

Aubrey was so excited about getting to sleep in her new bed! She slept great, and didn't even wake up when Ryleigh started crying!

Ryleigh slept in her Pack N Play, but would of loved sleeping in the bed with Aubrey.

I love Embassy Suites! Their hotels provide an awesome breakfast! My parents came up to join us that morning.

Yummy!

The girls also got to pick a fun balloon of their choice.

They were so excited about swimming! The water was ice cold!

I spent the majority of the time in the hot tub with Ryleigh.

Some more of the Tate clan also came to the hotel to swim. Aubrey loves playing with her cousins!

We only stayed one night, but we had so much fun!

Aubrey and Ryleigh can be so sweet to each other. I love it when Ryleigh sits in Aubrey's lap!
They love going down slides together too!

Ryleigh was so excited that I let her help make dessert with Aubrey. These girls love to help me cook!

I am a big fan of the window markers!  It gave us something fun to do, on one of our many house arrest days!

The Frisco Commons is one of our favorite parks. We had a great time joining our friends, the Esquibels on a nice, March day. Valerie treated us all to donuts!

Ryleigh and Alex

I am convinced that Ryleigh and Aubrey could swing longer than any other kids in the world! They love swinging!

They also love going up and down hills!

This was another desperate attempt for entertainment in March. I gave the girls shaving cream, and play dishes to go with it. I don't think I have tried it again since! It was such a big mess! I think it lasted about 5 minutes too!

We had quite a bit of storms in March. This was right before one of them! I thought the sky looked so dark!
One of my favorite memories of the year, was our camping trip to Lake Ray Roberts. We went with our Small Group friends, and had the best time. It was our first time to camp out with the girls, and they did awesome! We will definitely be doing it again soon!

It was my first time to camp with a blow up mattress, which was nice! The first night I thought I we were all  going to freeze to death, but the second night was much better. We used a heater, and it made all the difference. I also don't usually camp with electrical outlets, but I am now a fan!

Aubrey and Ryleigh loved all the time outdoors with their friends.
We love the Hughes!

The  kids were all admiring the frog that one of them caught! (I think it was Beckham!)

So cute! Zoe loves frogs!

The girls also enjoyed coloring together in the tent.

I think they could of played in the dirt all day long.

We were close to the playground too, which was a bonus!

Ryleigh loves walking perimeters. She didn't want anyone helping her either!

We spent some time letting the kids fish, which they all loved!

Back to the dirt again!

All the older girls are so sweet to Ryleigh, and always want to help take care of her. Edie was giving her a big hug!

Angela, Me, Allie and Melody

This wasn't everyone that came, but a good portion of the kiddos!

Another girl pic! Laura, Erika, Angie, Me, Melody and Liz

David, Ben, Andy, Jason, Josh, Brent and Rod
The Hughes were the only ones that stayed the second night with us. Harper was being a helper to Ryleigh.

This girl loves to camp!

The second night we all slept better. Rod did not want to get up!
Sweet girls!
One of my favorite things about camping, is of course the S'mores!
Aubrey loved them too!

So did Ryleigh!

Picking up camp! Ryleigh playing Peek A Boo!

I was sad to say goodbye! Aubrey's little cot was perfect for her.

Last tent pic before taking it down!
After we picked up camp, we headed to the little beach area before going home. Harper and Aubrey had so much fun playing in the water and the sand!

Ryleigh did too!

The girls both crashed on the way home!
Ryleigh's first time to face forward, and she loved it!

March is also Carly's birthday month! The Pruetts put together a great second birthday for her.
Carly enjoying her birthday cake!
So sweet!
We spent a lot of time outside in March. I miss the cooler temperatures!
Aubrey and Ryleigh love wearing my shoes. I think it's so cute to see them walking around wearing them.
And that sums up March! Yay!
