Aubrey's 1!

In celebration of Aubrey's birthday, I wanted to post some of my favorite pics from the year!

I could post alot more pictures, but then I would be up all night!

I can't believe my little girl is 1 today! I have been reflecting about the year we have had all day long. She was born at 10:35 a.m a year ago. She came out with more hair than I expected, and as cute as can be. It has been such a wonderful, memorable year. Some of my favorite Aubrey moments are:

-Holding her for the first time

-Seeing her crawl for the first time

-Saying Ma Ma, and beginning to lift her arms up to me

- When she ate her first bite of cereal

-Stood in her crib for the first time and started giggling

-Hearing her laughter

-Seeing her in her adorable ladybug costume

-Watching her sleep

-The first time she met her cousin Kate

I could do this all day long, but I will stop here!

Just yesterday she took her first steps on her own. Her favorite thing to do right now is play Peek A Boo! It's adorable. We had a little celebration for her last weekend, and then today I let her experience ice cream for the first time. She liked it, but I think she liked the muffin I gave her this morning better. We also celebrated the day by letting her play in her play pool, which she loves, and gave her some of her favorite foods. (Chicken noodle soup, bread, crackers and cheese).

To wrap up this post, I have somethings I would like to share with Aubrey!

Aubrey,

You have been such a joy to Rod and I's life. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful, adorable child. I love the way you smile, and your laughter just warms my heart. It's so neat to see how much you change and grow everyday. You have some of the funniest expressions I have ever seen, and I love that about you. I also love the way you get excited about food, (I do too!) and love your bath time. You have such a sensitivity about you, which will make you a very compassionate person in life. You have brought so much love into Rod and I's life. We both think your the greatest! I hope you never question how much we love you. We believe you can do anything in life that you put your mind to! We will be here for you, each step of your life, the good and bad. I hope you don't grow too fast, I am cherishing every moment I have with you.
I pray for you everyday, and the girl you are going to become. Remember that no matter how much others give you love, no love can compare to the love that God can provide.

Aubrey, Maggie and More

Where to begin? Auberey turned 11 months! I can't believe she is only one month away from turning 1. She has now outgrown her exersaucer and jumper, which is a reminder she is getting older. I think putting up the jumper was the hardest, because she loved that thing! It's a bittersweet feeling for me. It's exciting, but I'm also sad that she's getting older. I love the stage she is at right now. One of Rod and I's favorite things to do with her is to chase her around and say, "I'm going to get you!" She will crawl away from us as fast as possible, and then when we get right next to her, she will lay flat on the floor as if surrendering. She giggles the whole time we are doing it. It's so adorable!
She also is really into books, which I love. She will turn the pages, and pretend she is reading. It makes me smile. I also love the fact that she is a great eater. The only thing I have found that she doesn't like is peas. Who could blame her?

We are still not to the walking point, but we are getting closer. She will stand on her own on occassion now. She is very cautious about things, but I like that. Anytime we get in a new situation, she typically has to watch for awhile before she will start to play. She really loves the playground at the Shops at Willow Bend. It's perfect for a child her age!

Aubrey had her first experience in the pool, and loved it. I can't wait to spend lots of time at the pool this summer.

In other news, Aubrey and Maggie are still buddies! Maggie has learned that Aubrey will share her food, which is creating bad habits! Maggie will lay by her high chair until she is done eating, and then lick everything off it when I get her up. She also will clean the floor, which I have to admit is a little nice.

Her front two teeth are about to pop through. I can't wait to see how her smile changes!

Aubrey's cousin Kate turned 1! You will have to see pictures on Tami's blog. Kate eating the cake was simply priceless!
