The Month of May

As I reflect upon the month of May, it gives me great to joy to look back on these pictures. At the same time, it makes me sad, because my kids have grown so much in just a few short months! (My belly has too!)  We've had some really fun times over the past few months, and I am excited to share them with all of you.I realize that there is no way I can slow down time, or that I can ever go back to special moments that we have shared; which can be hard to swallow. However, if we didn't move on, we would miss out on all the many exciting things that lie ahead. So, here you go....

At the first of May, Aubrey's school had their End of the Year Spring performance. This was a special time in which the kids were able to show off many of the songs they had learned over the course of the year. It made me sad to watch the show. Aubrey had just started back to school, and didn't know many of the songs. She didn't want to partcipate in the performance, which is understandable. I knew that she would have felt awkward standing up there, not knowing half the words, etc.. So, while all of the other parents sat and watched, and smiled at their kids, I felt sad for Aubrey. She sat out with her teacher. It was just a reminder to me that she missed out on many fun things while we were at home.
Poor Aubrey!

She was not happy about having her picture taken!

Oh well, maybe she will get to be in the show next year!
Aubrey and Kate were so excited about wearing their matching swimsuits. This was their first time to wear them! This was also the picture we used for their birthday invitations. They looked so cute!

I couldn't believe my two girls putting their babies in timeout. It made me laugh!
Window markers were a great invention! We have used these on many days at home. (I will say, they are tough to get out of carpet though!)
This was Aubrey's day at school to celebrate her June birthday! She is sitting next to her best pal, Maggie!

Also in May, I ran a 5K with a few of my running buddies! I was newly pregnant, so I tried to stay at a pace that was a little slower than my normal speed. I miss my running days! Those days are gone for awhile!
                                                                      Family pic!

In this picture, we are celebrating my Dad's Reelection as Mayor. We also were celebrating his birthday!
I am so proud of him!

The picture below is one of my favorite pictures of the girls and I! It was taken on Mother's Day. I am so blessed to have two wonderful girls, plus one in heaven, and one on the way! At school, Aubrey had to answer some questions about me. I was impressed with her answers. Here were some of them...

What is your Mom's name?
"Just Mommy"
What does your Mom do while you are are at school?
"Being Silly"
How old is your Mom?
"Just Tall"
What is your Mom's favorite thing to eat?
"A Burrito"
What is your mom's favorite drink?
"Sonic drink"
My Mom is special to me because...
"She's nice"

I felt like Aubrey's answers were pretty accurate! Aubrey and Ryleigh love drinking sips of my Sonic Dr. Pepper! They also are both big fans of Mexican food, just like me!

For my Dad's birthday, each of the grandkids wrote about  "Pa Pa", and what they liked best about him. It was sweet to see what each of the kids wrote.
Aubrey and Ryleigh were sharing their picture and words below... "I like it when he tickles me..."

Aubrey loves cuddling with her Papa!

Congratulations!

Main Street Days is an annual event in Grapevine, typically in May. I absolutely love it! There is an area just for kids, filled with sand pits, bikes, play doh, a petting zoo and more. Of course, my favorite part is the food! I love the big corny dogs! The girls always enjoy it too!

The girls loved playing with the sand! It was an added bonus that we were in the shade!

Sweet faces!
I love moments like these, when the girls just sit and read books together.

Last Day of School!
Aubrey and Ryleigh wore their big sisters shirts to let everyone know our exciting news! Ryleigh enjoyed all the yummy party food too!

Aubrey enjoyed getting to have her little sister with her.
As part of the last day, the kids got to wear swimsuits and play in the water. As soon as it started, a little boy sprayed Aubrey, and she was not happy! She cried and cried, and was pretty much not interested in playing after that. (She is with her buddies Maggie and Katie here)

Anytime we were at school, the boys were always so interested in Ryleigh. They would come up to her and want to touch her, play with her, or make her laugh.

Enjoying some ice cream to cool off!

Ryleigh was able to enjoy it too!

The girls looked so cute in the silly glasses they handed out!

We are going to miss you Mrs. Julie and Mrs. Laura! Thank you for being such incredible teachers to Aubrey during a rough year!

Ranch Trip
It had been a long time since I had been to our ranch, and the girls had never been! We knew that one of the best gifts we could give my Dad for his birthday would be a family trip to the ranch. So, we all headed their for Memorial Day weekend.
There wasn't room for everyone to stay out at the ranch, so the girls all stayed in a hotel. Aubrey had stayed in a hotel before, but she was too young to remember. Ryleigh had never stayed in one before. Aubrey was so excited and proud of her bed. It was so adorable!

Ryleigh and I

I love this picture of Carly and Ryleigh! Ryleigh doesn't look like she knows how to kiss here.

Silly girls!
Aubrey was so happy to be out at the ranch, and enjoying all her cousins! She finally got to see the place she has heard about so many times!
It is not easy to get a picture of this many kids smiling!

My sister Lori has always been gifted at braiding people's hair. She was excited to braid Aubrey and Kate's hair for us. They loved it, and they looked so cute!

You can tell these girls are related!
We were blessed with cooler temperatures that weekend. It was so nice! I actually got a little cold! Rod and I enjoying the Four Wheeler here! Our girls had no interest in riding! It made them too nervous!

Aubrey loves Aunt Lori!

Tami and Carly (This girl LOVES time with her Mama!)

It has been so neat watching Kate, Isabelle and Aubrey grow up together. I love how close they are in age!

This table brings back memories of my childhood. We used to always sit at the "yellow table" on camping trips!

Here are some indoor pics....

My Dad got so much pleasure out of seeing us all enjoy the ranch together.  It was a wonderful weekend for our family.

We let the girls swim for a short while, although it was SO COLD!

Eating out for dinner in town...

Michael, Rod and Zack

After dinner we went to a park close by. The kids loved getting to run around and play.
I don't think Aubrey is having much fun!
You don't see very many See Saws anymore!
Ryleigh loves to hang, climb, jump on anything!
Rainbows always bring me a sense of happiness, and make me think of Marabeth. It was a wonderful way to end the weekend.
