Holiday Season

The holiday season this year was full of craziness and fun! The weather brought some changes in plans, but everything worked out great! This was our year to go to Clovis for Christmas, so we decided to fly to Lubbock and rent a car to Clovis. We ended up having to leave a day later than planned due to the weather. Luckily we had not driven to the airport when we found out it had been cancelled. Rod's sister Candice and her fiance Jose ended up spending Christmas Eve at our house, since they too were supposed to be on our flight. We left Christmas Day after having a delay, and then waiting FOREVER on the plane for takeoff. Of course, I am a nervous flyer, so I was glad to know they were making everything secure. Rod and I were a little anxious about Aubrey's first flight, but we both think she did pretty well. Aubrey did try to sit in between my legs on the floor during takeoff, but we figured out a way to enertain her. We were blessed to have a friendly man in front of us who had a grandchild not that much younger than Aubrey. He put up with her noise and kicking his chair with a smile. Granted she got all the junk food she wanted, but we didn't care as long as she was happy. When we made our drive to Lubbock both going, and coming home; Aubrey slept the entire way. We were so excited about that! Aubrey doesn't tend to do so well after sitting for awhile in a car seat, stroller, high chair, you name it! She is a busy body, and I have no idea who she would get that from! Anyways, the roads were a little icy on our way into Clovis, but it wasn't too bad. It wasn't anything like what some experienced.     Aubrey also experienced her first stay in a motel. She hasn't slept in a Pack N Play in quite some time, but she handled it like a champ. Now that she has an attachment to her teddy bears and blanket, she transitions into new sleeping situations very well.  It was great seeing family that we had not seen in awhile.
Christmas and Thanksgiving with the Tate family was loud and crazy as always, but it was a ton of fun. Aubrey and Kate loved having time together with their other cousins and having new toys to play with. We always open gifts from each other on the Dec. 23rd, and order pizza. It takes quite awhile to get through all the gifts, but it's full of excitement.
We created some wonderful memories, that I will remember for a long time. Aubrey figured out how to open gifts by the time it was all over. She was adorable to watch! Enjoy all the pictures!

Thankgiving

It's a .....

GIRL!!!! I am still a little shocked today, since our doctor's prediction based upon our last sono was a boy. His prediction was about 60-70 percent last time, so I was sure it was a boy! However, there was definitely no boy part, that is for sure. I  already had an idea in my mind for what the room would look like, a name, etc.. Now that we are having a girl, I have no clue. I've started getting excited about Aubrey having a sister though. I grew up with all sisters, and I definitely feel that sisters have a special bond.  I cannot believe  the last 6 grandkids in the Tate family have been girls! It's crazy! There is going to be alot of hormones spreading around during the holidays! There will now be 8 grandkids that are girls on the Tate side, and 5 that are boys. I think it will be alot of fun though!
The blood clot is just about gone now. The bleeding has pretty much stopped, and the doctor said  I can get back to my regular activities. Praise God! Everything with the baby looked healthy and normal. We are very blessed! Thanks for all the prayers! Love, Kam

Crazy about Cayman

Before posting about our trip to Cayman, I wanted to thank each of you who have been keeping our pregnancy in your thoughts and prayers. The blood clot has gotten smaller, which has been a wonderful praise. We will have another sono on Monday to see if it's gone yet. We have not been given a clear answer on what we are having yet, but we should definitely know by Monday! We are excited!
Okay, so these pictures are a couple of months late, but I promised a friend I would post pictures of our trip. He and his family are considering a trip to Cayman as well. Our trip to Cayman was incredible. We left Aubrey here at our house with Mimi and Papi. (Rod's parents). They gave Aubrey some wonderful one on one time, and Rod and I got our one on one time too! I really thought I would be more emotional on the trip without Aubrey, but we made daily phone calls home, and Aubrey was always doing well. I did get a little emotional when Mimi told us that she went to our room looking for us though. For those of you out there who have not made a trip without your kiddos, I strongly suggest it! It was really good for us to have that time together. I was definitely ready to get home and see my baby girl though! I don't think I could of stayed any longer without her.
If any of your are trying to find a good beach to go to on a vacation, definitely consider Cayman! The resort felt extremely safe, and the pictures I have posted of the ocean just do not compare to what you see when you are there. The water is crystal clear!
I never thought I would swim with sting rays, but that was one of my favorite parts of the trip! One of the days it rained most of the day, but Rod and I didn't care. We spent the day sleeping and watching a movie in our room. It was really relaxing, and I slept alot since it was the first trimester of the pregnancy. Enjoy the pictures!
