I have had a desire to update my blog for some time now, but having a newborn has made it quite a challenge! I appreciate my faithful readers for being patient with me! I think we are now getting past Hannah’s colicky stage. For about a month she was crying from midnight till around three or five in the morning. There was nothing we could do to get her to stop crying, which was emotional for me at times. However, after the road we have been on; I can handle colic! It was not an easy month, but I kept reminding myself that these were days I could never get back. They were very difficult, but I knew that it would pass in time. Now that Aubrey is reaching Kindergarten age, I am realizing even more how fast time goes.
Hannah's first few months of life have gone very fast! She is typically a very content baby, with night time being her most fussy time of day. We started a bad habit of letting her sleep in her car seat to keep her upright at night, and now we are having a hard time breaking her of that! She got her first cold when she was just one week old, and had her first sick visit to the doctor on January 2nd. Then on January 24th she was diagnosed with having thrush, which took some time to get over. Last week she got her first ear infection, so we are now on antibiotics for that. Having a baby in the winter is rough! I am so thankful she has gotten over her colds pretty well though! She is changing so quickly and growing so fast! At her two month appointment she was in the 90th percentile for weight, and the 80th percentile for length. Her weight was 12 pounds 6 ounces, which was almost exactly half of what Ryleigh weighs as a three year old! Ryleigh weighs around 24 pounds and is still not on the chart for length or width. Regardless, I feel like we have come so far from 1 pound 10 ounces, so we will take that!
As far as Christmas goes, we had a wonderful time with my family, and the snow was an added treat! Aubrey had been praying it would snow this year on Christmas, and her wish came true. On the way home from my parent’s house, I said, “Aubrey you asked for snow, and you got it!” She said, “How did I do that?” So cute! Aubrey and Ryleigh had a great time with their cousins, and loved opening all their presents. Aubrey was especially cute about Santa this year. She told me that she wanted to stay up so she could give Santa a hug! When she saw her bike on Christmas day she said, “He got me a bike, he really did!” I loved getting to experience Christmas all together with our little family of five!
These first pictures are actually right before I delivered Hannah! I was determined to do fun things leading up to Hannah’s birth with the girls. I knew having a newborn would bring on new challenges! It brings me joy to see them now, knowing how much my life would soon be changing!
