Aubrey definitely acts like a two year old, but she sure is a lot of fun. She is good at testing us, and she can be a bit stubborn. However, I love every bit of her. There are days that I have to take lots of deep breaths, but I think we are heading in the right direction. She is starting to understand the consequences a little better. She is almost three too, so we can reason with her a little easier now. We have been taking this class at church called "Growing Kids God's Way." Many of our friends from church are taking it with us. It has been so rewarding! I have learned so much from hearing the wisdom from our teachers, watching the videos, and reading the workbook. I highly recommend it!
I have so many things to post about Aubrey, but I just want to start off by showing this adorable video of her. Aubrey gets more and more into singing, the older she gets. In the video, you can see that she is wearing her backpack. It has become one of her favorite things to wear!.
It seems like a lot of our video footage occurs when she has either just woken up from a nap, or in the morning. You get to see Aubrey's crazy hair in full force. Here is one example...
This book was one of her favorites when she was a little younger. She still loves it today.
I know I talk a lot about Aubrey and her love for her baby dolls. It truly is amazing to me to watch a two year old be so nurturing. She is learning how to be a mother at such a young age. She imitates everything I do to Ryleigh, and everything I do to her. It warms my heart so much. She LOVES to put her baby in Ryleigh's car seat. The dialogue that she has with her baby is always something that has happened either between Ryleigh and I, or Aubrey and I. Here is some footage of her doing just that.
Those who know me well, know I love a good dance party. Mainly, dance parties at home. My sisters and I have many, many memories of dance parties! Oh, if there had been a hidden camera! It's fun to do whatever crazy moves you want, in the comfort of home. Aubrey and I have started having fun with the dance parties too. You can't help but get in a good mood when you have a dance party. Check out Aubrey and her moves!
It's obvious how often I talk to Tami by this video. Aubrey probaby does this ten times a day or more. It make me laugh everytime.
Aubrey has some funny quirks. She gets really upset if there is any food particles in the bathtub, dirt, you name it. The girl likes to be clean! My family finds this humorous, because they know how I was a kid. (Exactly the opposite!) She also has a huge fear of bugs. Especially flies!
Noises make Aubrey anxious too. If we are on a walk, and someone is mowing the lawn, she races to get back in the stroller. Poor girl! She is definitely a cautious girl. I like that though!
I sat in bed one night last week, and I couldn't stop thinking about how fast time is flying. Aubrey is going to be three soon, and starting preschool! I don't want her to grow up to soon! I love the song by Taylor Swift "Never Grow Up".
Your little hands wrapped around my fingerAnd it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light
To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you
Won't let no one break your heart
No, no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up, never grow up
I love you Aubrey!
